India Tourist Visa Requirements
PLEASE GATHER, PREPARE AND SEND THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:
Valid Passport:
You must send the actual passport. The passport must have at least six (6) months validity remaining before expiration and has at least one complete blank visa page for the visa stamp.

Visa Application Form:
Download, completely fill-out and sign India visa application form. One form per applicant.
Photograph:
You must provide two 2"x2" passport type photo.
Additional Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizens:
You must send a copy of both sides of your U.S. Green Card or your U.S. visa.
Note: For Non - U.S. citizen, only 6 months visa will be issued. The 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years visa is not available for non U.S. citizen.
Persons of Indian Origin applying for a visa for the FIRST time on US passport must submit their Indian passport along with the application form for cancellation and return. If the visa is required on a new US passport booklet, either previous US passport or photocopy of Indian visa are to be submitted with the application.
US CITIZENS OF PAK ORIGIN.
For US citizen who previously held Pakistani Passport is normally granted short
duration (3-6 months) visa. If the applicant holds both US and Pakistani
Passports, he/she should apply for Indian visa in Pakistani Passport only.
The processing time is longer and may take up to 3 weeks.
PAKISTANI NATIONALS

In case of Pakistani nationals visa is normally issued after clearance from the
concerned authorities in the Government of India. Pakistani nationals resident
in the USA may apply in the prescribed application form in quadruplicate (two
originals and two photocopies), with four recent passport size photographs, the
current and previous passports, a photocopy of the current passport and
documentary evidence as may be required. Visitor visa is granted to Pakistani
nationals, who have blood relatives in India or for other legitimate purpose,
and should furnish documentary proof in support thereof. It should give a
complete verifiable address of the relative in India. Application should be
complete in all respects and should in particular, indicate port of arrival as
well as details of previous visits to India, if any. The visa fee is $ 2/- and
an additional reference fee of $ 20/- is payable with each application.
Applications for business visas should be supported by a letter from sponsoring
company in USA and invitation(s) from the concerned companies in India.
BANGLADESH NATIONALS

Citizens of Bangladesh should apply in the application form prescribed for
Bangladesh nationals, in duplicate, along with 2 photographs.
Note:
It usually takes longer period to process visa applications of
Pakistani, Afghanistan, Somalia and Chinese passport holders. |
